Composting Demo

Composting in the city can be fun and rewarding, especially when it means your trash won’t be as stinky and your plants will be happy! Stop by Garfield Park Conservatory to have all of your composting questions answered by our knowledgeable compost volunteers. Depending on the weather, they will be outside in the Urban Demonstration Garden or inside with our ‘worm cart’ to talk about different ways to recycle food and garden scraps. Our volunteers will demonstrate techniques we’ve found helpful in speeding up the process for nutrient-rich compost in addition to talking about the pro’s and con’s of different compost systems to help you pick the perfect bin for your needs.
