COMEDY OAKLAND, voted "Best Place for Comedy" - 2016 East Bay Express Readers Poll, features up-and-coming comedians alongside industry pros. Our comedians have featured on TV, radio, comedy festivals, late night talk shows, won competitions, and have performed on every habitable continent!
We are located inside The Spice Monkey restaurant, upstairs. Free street parking is available after 6pm. We are 2 blocks from 19th St BART. There are no transaction fees! We serve food and drinks. There is are no food or drink minimums at our shows.
Comedy Oakland was established in May 2009 by Samson Koletkar, world's only Indian Jewish Standup Comedian He has performed his cerebral, intelligent, clean brand of humor in India, Canada & USA. Silicon India listed him in "10 Indian Comedians Who Found Success in the U.S."
Co-host Ira Summer decided the comedy scene really needed another middle aged Jew from New Jersey. He is also the co-host of the podcast, Date Talk.
The longest running weekly comedy show in Oakland, we feature 20+ comedians over 5 shows with varying show formats every week. There's always something for everyone at our shows.
