Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Workshop - DTE Energy, EMU & Engie (Eastern Michigan Univ)

Hosted by Eastern Michigan University in partnership with their CHP project developer, Engie Services, we will tour the new EMU gas turbine CHP plant that was upgraded and placed into service in the fall of 2017. Hosted by DTE, EMU and Engie Services at the Eastern Michigan Student Union in Ypsilanti, Michigan.  This workshop is for facility managers and building owners located in the DTE Gas service territory to discuss the economical, low carbon technology called CHP, or cogeneration. A limited number of seats are available for non-DTE customers. Contact the organizers for registration code if you are not a commercial or industrial DTE Gas customer.

11:30am                Walk 1,200 feet to Heating Plant for CHP system tour

11:45 – 12:30pm   Tour of EMU Power House and CHP Systems

12:30pm                Lunch is served back in Student Center

1:00 – 1:30pm       CHP 101 followed by an introduction to of DTE Energy’s CHP resources for facility owners and the building design community, including new CHP product & case study catalog, with project development resources (Jim Leidel of DTE Energy)

1:30 – 2:00pm       EMU CHP Project Success Story (John Donegan, VP of Facilities)
