About the Musical Artists

Henry Criz has made successful concert tours in the United States and Europe. Under the auspices of the U.S. Department of State, he performed in numerous Eastern European and Middle Eastern cities. He made his solo debut at the age of 11 at a youth concert of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and has appeared as soloist with the Chautauqua Festival Orchestra and the Washington National Orchestra at Wolf Trap. Henry has won the Dasch, Lyon & Healy, and McCormick Foundation Awards, as well as the National federation of Music Clubs Award, which led to a performance at The White House. Broadcasts have included Radio Telefis Eireann (RTE) and the Swiss Radio Broadcasting System. He was Concertmaster of the orchestra of the Lyric Opera of Chicago for nine years, and has been Concertmaster for, and regularly appeared as soloist with, a number of other local orchestras. He completed the Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees with honors at Chicago Musical College of Roosevelt University, studying under Morris Gomberg, and was on the faculty there. Currently, he is Director and teacher at his Moraine Music Academy and is a registered financial advisor with Patrick Mauro Investment Advisor, Inc.

Neil Posner has a long musical history. His father and grandfather were pianists, and he started piano lessons with his father at the age of 5, moving to lessons with professional teachers at age 6. After completing undergraduate studies at New York University, he worked several years as a music director and rehearsal pianist on and off-Broadway, and classical (opera, choral and instrumental) accompanist, performing in all the major New York concert venues, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and Town Hall. He moved to Los Angeles to work as a studio pianist while continuing to play in the pit orchestras for many Broadway shows that came to Los Angeles, including A Chorus Line, Wonderful Town and Barnum, as well as touring with such legendary artists as Peggy Lee and Andy Williams. He continued his work as a classical accompanist, performing with such artists as Jean-Pierre Rampal and David Shostac. When he tired of the touring musician’s life, he launched a recording studio that specialized in post-production services, which allowed him to return to his first love: classical accompanying and chamber music. After taking business courses at UCLA to help him manage his growing recording-studio business, he decided to change careers and received his law degree, magna cum laude from Marquette University. Neil practices at the law firm of Much Shelist PC in Chicago, where he is the Chair of the Policyholder’s Insurance Coverage Practice Group. Active in philanthropy, he also is Chair of the Board of Directors of Jewish Child & Family Services/JCFS Chicago. And he continues to perform the music that he loves.
