The NY Adventure Club Collage Art Night Series

 Collage Art making + refreshments = a perfect Wednesday night.

Join New York Adventure Club and accomplished artist educator Rich Garr for our first collage art series taking place in the East Village.

This unique and interactive workshop will include:

• An introduction to basic collage art techniques and concepts.
• A short step-by-step demo to get the creative juices flowing.
• A group photo with all of the collages, which are yours to take home (or barter) at the end of the workshop.
• Two beverages of your choice from the bar.

Old magazines and other material will be provided, but attendees are more than welcome to bring their own paper scraps.

All artistic levels are welcome — no experience is required!

About Rich Garr

Rich is a collage artist and NYC tour guide living in Brooklyn. His varied background reflects consistent interest in architecture and urban development, and the way in which people react to the world around them. He is a proud native of Cleveland, and a former student and teacher at the Cleveland Museum of Art. College studies let him to Fordham University in the Bronx, where he began incessant exploration of NYC.

He returned to Cleveland to work as an artist and attend graduate school, where his thesis “New Art in Old Buildings” analyzed ways in which contemporary culture mingles with the past. Interest in museums (and his wife) led him back to New York, where he began work at the Brooklyn Museum.

Freelance work as an artist educator followed, taking him to the Educational Alliance Art School; the Cathedral of St. John the Divine; Kentler International Drawing Space; the Lefferts Historic House in Prospect Park, and at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. He currently runs his own tours as Gotham SideWalks. While not exploring New York City with his young kids, he divides time between creating and presenting tours and art.
