Come enjoy sisterhood and conversation about authentic solidarity building.
This session will specifically focus on the legacy and impact of enslaved African Muslims and Black American Muslims. Honoring the beautiful Islamic tradition of what it means to authentically engage and get to know one another. As Allah says in the Qur'an,
" O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted. " Qur'an {49:13}
Come explore the beauty of "knowing one another." We will be pulling from and reflecting on the incredible work of Sylviane A. Diouf and the book Servants of Allah as well as materials from Yaqeen Institute.
