Please join us at our first annual giving celebration! The College Simulation Experience strives to alleviate poverty and prepare youth for our local workforce through equipping them with invaluable life skills. Many programs focus solely on academics, leaving students unprepared for the challenges of college life. Studies have shown that a large percentage of students drop out not due to academic failure, but unexpected life challenges. These burdens fall especially high in low-income and first-generation college students. We use a fun and engaging role play game, along with follow-up panels and workshops, to teach students about the obstacles and challenges that may lie ahead. As students navigate the four "years" or rounds of the game, they become more confident in their ability to handle higher education!
Thursday, June 29th 2017 will mark our very first giving celebration and we hope you will join us to help make sure all students are prepared for college, no matter their background. The event will be held at the beautiful and historic Shea's Performing Arts Center in downtown Buffalo from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, and will feature a preview of the simulation game our students take, reflections on our first few years of programming from Executive Director April Baskin, and the awarding of a scholarship to one lucky TCSE student! Come be a part of the Simulation Experience and help local students succed in higher ed!
