Palmer Woods Music in Homes celebrates Black History Month with a sensational string ensemble, extraordinary music and soulfood-inspired dinner — in a magnificent 1927 Tudor filled with an extensive museum-quality collection of African-American art. Grammy-nominated violinist Jannina Barefield Norpoth returns to her hometown with musical partners violist Jason Amos, and bassist/husband John-Paul Norpoth to join world-acclaimed guitarist/composer A. Spencer Barefield (her dad!). Enjoy magical music, merging European Classical with American Classical (jazz and music of the African diaspora), and sounds exploring new, imaginative terrain. All year, we honor the myriad of accomplishments of African-American and other world-class composers, musicians and artists with monthly concerts of jazz, classical, blues and world music in Palmer Woods in historic homes, mansions and garden.
