If you are a pastor or are involved in any sort of ministry, you'll want to join us for this inaugural Eighth Day Colloquium with James K. A. Smith.'
Smith will lead us in an exploration of public theology within the context of a secular age. We encourage registrants to read two of Smith's books:
Coffee, Morning Snacks, and Lunch will be provided.
9am-3pm on Friday and Saturday, Feb 23-24 at Newman University in the Jabara Flexible Theater in DeMattias Fine Arts Center.
Smith will also be giving two free public lectures:
1) Thursday evening, Feb 22: A Hall of Men sponsored lecture on St Augustine. This will be a Hall of Men format, but open to the public (gals included!) at Chapel Hill UMC from 6:30-7:45 pm with a welcome reception at Eighth Day Books immediately afterwards. Sponsored by Chapel Hill UMN, Church of the Resurrection CEC, Hall of Men & Sisters of Sophia.
2) Friday evening, Feb 24: A public lecture related to his book You Are What You Love: The Spiritual Power of Habit at First Evangelical Free Church. Sponsored by First Evangelical Free.
