Join us at The Radler for a conversation with representatives from three different film funding organizations:

Artemis Willis (Richard H Driehaus Foundation)
Sarah M. Rubin (Chicago Digital Media Production Fund)
Mark Hallett (Illinois Humanities Council)

We will be talking about where to find filmmaking grants and how to apply, trends in funding preferences, future deadlines for Chicago-area grants, common weaknesses and red flags in grant proposals, and more!

ARTEMIS WILLIS is a consultant for the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation. She is currently a doctoral candidate in Cinema and Media Studies at the University of Chicago. She is an independent media artist, freelance programmer and curator, and former vice-president of the New York Film/Video Council. Her films and magic lantern performances have been presented at various museums, festivals, and conferences in the U.S. and abroad.

MARK HALLETT is the Program Manager of Grants and Partnerships at the Illinois Humanities Council. Prior to that, Mark was a Senior Program Office for the McCormick Foundation. His focus was the Journalism Program, and he worked on initiatives involving youth and community media, reporter training, and open government.

SARAH M. RUBIN is the Marketing and Fundraising Manager at Chicago Filmmakers and Reeling: The Chicago LGBTQ+ Int'l Film Festival. She is also the Grants Administrator for the Chicago Digital Media Production Fund, a program that awards $100,000 each year in cash grants to Chicago-area media artists whose web-based projects seek to create social change.
