The Cook Inlet Historical Society celebrates Black History Month with talks on the role that African Americans have had in Anchorage, across Alaska, and the nation. Community advocates and historians Ed Wesley and Cal Williams speak on different aspects of this history. a display and a book giveaway also at the event. This is the third talk in the Society’s 2019-2020 speaker series, “Breaking the Ice: Envisioning the Future of the North.” Free and open to the public. Please use the museum’s 7th Ave. entrance.
