The Chicago Healthcare Coalition (CHSCPR) will be hosting an in-person, hands-on training opportunity for Respiratory Therapy and Biomedical Engineering staff employed within the City of Chicago Hospitals on the morning of Tuesday, March 20, 2018. There will be three identical hour-long sessions between 9:00am - 12:00pm. It is highly recommended that at least one person from each of these departments within your hospital attend.
Session 1: 9:00am – 10:00am
Session 2: 10:00am – 11:00am
Session 3: 11:00am – 12:00pm
In the event that the need for ventilators throughout the city exceeds the capacity of the hospitals, the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) will support the hospitals in acquiring additional resources. Once the hospitals and CDPH have exhausted all local resources, the request to assist will be extended to the federal government. This training will provide a brief educational overview and demonstration of the locally and federally stockpiled ventilators (GE/VERSAMED IVent 201 & LTV 1200) by a biomedical engineering subject matter expert, followed by a hands-on session for all participants.
This training will take place at the Chicago Dept. of Public Health Training Center (1642 N Besly Ct., Chicago, IL 60642). Please note, due to the content of this training, it is limited to Respiratory Therapy and Biomedical Engineering Staff within the City of Chicago hospitals.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing further information about attending in-person.
