Four Tickets to Christmas

Featuring rollicking comedy and poignant drama, Four Tickets to Christmas blends the delightful sentimentality of Hello, Dolly! and The Music Man with the big-top excitement of The Greatest Showman. So, come one, come all—it’s not just the greatest show on earth, far more important, it’s the greatest story that changed the earth forever!

It’s December 1911 and the exciting innovation of motion pictures has caused many traditional entertainment venues to close down, including the struggling Yonkers Christmas Circus and Vaudeville Show. That means Henry Richmond and his family suddenly find themselves out of work and are subsequently forced to spend the holidays with Henry’s parents on their Ohio farm where a longstanding feud between father and son must finally be faced. But Henry doesn’t even have time to don a pair of overalls and grab a plow before he’s recruited to direct Cedar Grove’s first Christmas production, featuring a plucky group of townsfolk that have rarely seen a sheet of music before. Rehearsals go from challenging to catastrophic when two of Henry’s former circus colleagues unexpectantly show up in Cedar Grove – one dedicated to staging singing Vikings in an opera and the other determined to produce a silent movie! The simplicity of the message of Christ’s birth seems lost in the chaos, until an unforeseen tragedy on Christmas Eve causes everyone—including a reconciled father and son—to return to where Christmas truly began—around a humble manger in a stable.
