About this month's presentation:

Childhood & Family Trauma and Issues With Attachment Part 2

Join us and learn how trauma impacts children and their development of attachments and relationships. We will explore the symptoms of trauma, information on forming healthy family attachments, and available resources in the community. This presentation is a continuation of the presentation we had in March, but don't worry if you missed the first part, you will still get a ton of benefit from attending session 2!

Topics that will be covered include:

• What trauma looks like in individuals and families

Trauma and brain development

• Tips and tools for helping children feel safe and secure in multiple environments

• Various resources and known treatments for trauma

About our guest speakers:

Brandy White, MA., LPP.

Brandy has been working with children and adolescents in the residential setting for five years as both a direct care staff and therapist. She currently works with children and families that have experienced trauma through providing support, education, and neurologically based interventions. Brandy has certifications and experience using modalities such as motivational interviewing and therapeutic listening and is currently pursuing certification in neurofeedback and Safe and Sound protocols.

Stephanie Thiel, MSW, LCSW

Stephanie has been working with children and families for almost ten years. She works as a community-based family therapist with a focus on attachment and significant trauma. She specializes in Attachment-Focused Family Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and uses other trauma-informed models. She also has extensive experience with people who have dual diagnoses as well as children in the foster care and legal systems.

Phoenix M. Brown, M.A, LPCC, LPP

Phoenix has worked with children in a variety of settings, including outpatient therapy, public schools, and residential/day treatment facilitates. Her training and work have focused on bridging the gap between neurodevelopmental disorders (Autism, ADHD) and trauma-related disorders. She is passionate about making mental health services and information accessible to children and their caregivers to help build healthy, happy families.

Tennyson Center for Children focuses on ensuring kids and families are connected with resources to heal and thrive in school, residential, and community settings.
