Childbirth Preparation: An Online Learning Course

Davis Hospital and Medical Center is offering an online childbirth class for expectant couples who prefer online learning to a traditional classroom setting. Our self-paced, user friendly program incorporates short video clips, personal stories, 3-D animations, activities, and games to help you prepare for the arrival of your new baby.

Some of the material covered in our program includes:

• Pregnancy- body changes, discomforts, warning signs, nutrition, and exercise
• Labor-preparing for birth, signs and onset of labor
• Medical Procedures-pain management, epidurals, and cesarean sections
• Comfort Techniques-breathing, relaxation, massage, visualization, focal points, hydrotherapy, birth action plans, labor and pushing positions, and advice for partners.

To join this class, follow these steps:

Step 1: Purchase your ticket on Eventbrite.

Step 2: When you receive your invitation email from our education department, go to the link provided in the email and create your password. You will have 60 days to view the eClass from the time of first login.

Step 3: Bookmark the website for later use (the eClass can be viewed on any electronic device for ease and convenience).

You will have access to the eClass for 60 days after your first login. Following your first login no refunds may be given. 

The cost of this program is $50 and includes access to the online course and the ability to email the educator. As an added feature to this course, participants who have purchased and completed this eClass have the opportunity to attend a free tour of the Women's Center. The expectant couple will begin their tour in the Labor and Delivery unit, visit our Newborn Nursery, and finish up with the OB/GYN recovery unit. Throughout your tour, feel free to ask any questions that may arise as you tour our beautiful and relaxing facility.
