Who is Chief Jim Silvernail?
Chief Jim Silvernail, former fire chief in the St. Louis area and avid supporter of the BackStoppers, recently passed away after becoming ill in March of 2018. As an honorary member of the Woodard family, the company is hosting a memorial mud run in Chief Silvernails honor. During his distinct 60-year term of service, he served as a career firefighter with the Creve Coeur Fire Protection District, volunteer deputy chief for the Eureka Fire Protection District and fire chief to both the Metro West Fire Protection District, as well as the Mehlville Fire Protection District, before retiring in April of 2010.The love that Chief Silvernail had for supporting our first responders, matched his commitment to the fire service. As such, he spent much of his time helping support nonprofit fundraisers big and small.
