CBO VBP Pilot: Education Session Featuring Milano Harden

We are thrilled to bring back Milano Harden, to provide a day of facilitation on September 20th, at 100 West Avenue in Rochester - thank you to Salvation Army for graciously offering to host the cohort again.

Below please find an outline of the day - you are allowed to bring three members of your team, and we have invited your Consultants as well. 

We look forward to seeing all of you on the 20th for what promises to be an engaging and full day.

• The day will not only be a re-engagement with the education session component of the Pilot program, but also a mechanism to kick-off the Value Proposition Phase in the Fall.  You already had a great introduction through Glenda, and this will build with more perspective from Milano and the team.
• The topic of the day will focus on moving from a ‘Pay for Performance’ environment to a ‘Pay for Success,’ outcomes driven environment; the session includes a sector-wide lens, across all types of funders: Philanthropy, Government & Healthcare.  This will include existing and tested curriculum that Milano has developed (and has received rave reviews elsewhere) for non-profit managers on negotiations, strategic communications and leadership competencies required in a changing funding environment.
• The first part of the day will be skill building, the second part of the day will be facilitated small group, peer driven discussions focused on best practices and application, and the third part of the day will be in consultation with your Pilot Consultant, to integrate the work into your Implementation Plan and Value Proposition. 
• We would like the Executive Director to be present, in speaking with Milano we believe two others members should be present as well, but are optional: (1) member of the leadership team that is focused on strategy or development, (2) a member of the Board – either the Chair or the liaison to the Pilot; all other attendees should be recommended and cleared through FLPPS / United Way.  We are limiting attendance to three per CBO team in accordance with these guidelines.  We understand that not all of you indicated you would be free on this date but it was the overhelming favorite for availability; therefore please indicate who can come and if need be get in touch with Erin Barry to discuss.  There must be participation on behalf of your organization to fulfill the requirements of the program, but if there are unavoidable conflicts and unsure how to proceed you may discuss the best proxy stand-ins with Erin & Bill, and plan accordingly.
