Capture the Flag: Workshop | Washington, D.C
Hone your current arsenal of hacking skills or take home some new ones at this all-levels Capture the Flag event, hosted by Flatiron School.
During a Capture the Flag event, individuals or teams compete against each other in a cybersecurity game full of puzzles to solve.
Our Cybersecurity CTF environment offers four distinct domains: Networks, AppSec, Python, and Cryptography. Inside each domain, there are levels that build upon each other — to get to Level 2, you need information from Level 1, and so on — and get progressively harder as you go.
All are welcome! From cyber n00bs to seasoned pros, there will be something for everyone. And if you get stumped, our instructional staff will be floating around the room ready to troubleshoot.
What to expect:
- 10am - 10:30am: Setting up your machine | What is CTF?
- 10:30 - 11:15am: Instructor-guided beginner levels
- 11:15am - 12:30pm: Capture the Flag
Suggested experience:
- Basic programming or networking skills
- Zero security experience required
What to bring:
- Laptop and power cord
- Ability to access 802.11n (2.4 GHz) wireless
- All levels require a web browser and an SSH client (or the ability to install new programs. If you don't have the right tools, we will help you get set up!)
