Join photographer Kim Weston for this 6-week photography workshop, meeting on Wednesday evenings from 7-9pm, between July 17th – August 21st. This class is open to both brand new and returning students.
About the Workshop: In this beginner to intermediate course, students improve their creative and technical skills. Through lectures, assignments and critique, students explore the practical functions of the digital camera and learn how to compose a strong and meaningful photograph. Presentations on historical and contemporary artists will introduce several genres in photography, such as portraiture, landscape, and documentary. Expand your knowledge of your camera’s aperture, shutter speed and host of functions. Be willing to push yourself to the next level to learn how to get what you see. Please bring your camera and five or more prints to the first class.

NOTE: Students sign up for the full 6-week session, not individual classes. The total cost is $30.
About the Instructor: Kim Weston is a fine art photographer with a graphic design and painters background living in New York and Connecticut. She received her BFA from Cooper Union and is a recent MFA graduate from ICP-Bard College in Advanced Photographic Practice. Photography has allowed Kim Weston to teach, freelance in the commercial industry and be a visual artist. She questions how we can see the world when illusions surround us. Art promotes presence and an opportunity to see what’s true in our spirit and the discrepancy in our everyday. The gestures seen in her images are the product of chance and intention. kimwestonimages.com
