about the Festival of Colors (Holi)

Holi, the ancient Indian Festival Of Color, celebrates the arrival of spring and harvests to come. It's a time to celebrate friends and loved ones.  It’s the festival of colors, emotions, and happiness. The thousand-year-old main tradition of Holi is the throwing and applying of colored water and powder on friends and family, which gives the holiday its name “Festival of Colors.” We won't be throwing color, but we will have some to rub on your face (non-toxic). Welcome spring and let go of what doesn’t serve you anymore. Holi is actually celebrated on March 9-10, but we’re celebrating early!

about Nandini, founder of Chik Monk Coffee

Learn about the Holi Festival of Colors! Nandini will talk about Holi and she her why on how Chik Monk began.

"Born and raised in Chikmagalur, India, I am a fourth generation coffee grower, yogi and meditation practitioner. Our family grows specialty coffee in harmony with the surrounding Rainforest. In January 2019, we branded our Rainforest Alliance Certified Estate coffee under the name Chik Monk. The idea behind Chik Monk is to bring awareness of Chikmagalur, India (the second oldest coffee growing region in the world) and to communicate the story of our family farms. Our mission is to build a community of conscious consumers and to become a household name synonymous with sustainability and quality. We are driven to deplasticize our lives one coffee bag at a time. For us sustainability is also about paying our fortune forward. We are dedicating a percentage of our total profits to educate children and empower women in the coffee communities from where we source."

Do I have to wear colored powder?

No, it's up to you. Keep in mind that the powder stays on for a few hours. It's a good idea not to wear your best leggings to this event if you plan on putting powder on your body.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Please contact Sam Reynolds at hello@cafenamastemia.com or by phone: 305-908-2410.

What's the refund policy?

No refunds will be given for this event, unless there's a hurricane or major disaster. Event can be moved indoors if it rains. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, save the paper and just show your phone.

Where can I park?

Street parking, metro, or Uber!

I want my brand to be featured! How do I become a sponsor?

Very cool. We work with local startups and brands making a difference (like making bikinis out of recycled material). We're always on the lookout for apparel, accessories for self-improvement, plant based food and beverage, and services. Go to the website for more details. Thanks!
