After much posturing, the City FINALLY approved our petition to gather signatures for the recall of Libby Schaaf. Join us Sunday 9/18 for a brief training and refreshments before we hit the streets to talk to the people and build momentum for our campaign. We will break bread as a community in Oscar Grant Plaza at the end of the afternoon.

Several terrorism bombings just happened in New York. I've warned the "leadership" in Oakland these terrorism bombings would happen in my 2014 mayoral run. Libby Schaaf did not take my word seriously and now we're still unprepared, both civilians and police are sitting ducks. The inept Oakland mayor and her democrat administration did nothing, so as civilians, are left totally defenseless. Oakland Police is too understaff and too weak to handle terrorism, they can't even handle homicide investigation nor internal corruption. This mayor needs to resign because she is totally incompetent for the existing challenges the city faces.

Lots of folks went out, but we still need folks to come down and get packets. You can take them out to populated places or just go straight to your neighborhood.

Who are the coordinators of this petition? I completely agree that she needs to go, yet my question for the community is who are we going to advocate to replace her with? If we, the people, don't have an identified replacement to advocate for then we will be rolling the dice on who we get next. Excuse my ignorance if this has already been addressed, but I'm not in the loop of the core organizing and I don't see anything about a replacement on the site. Lets think ahead of the game.

Women are being arrested and thrown into county jail at alarming rates. Exposed to abuse, disease, haphazard medical care, or no medical care. Dirty clothing, bad food, and the bad behavior of guards. OPD was given a large sum of money by Libby and they are arresting women at an alarming rate in so called, "Domestic Violence" arrests. Men who batter their wives and girlfriends know that whoever calls 911 first will not be arrested even if they are the perpetrator, YES! OPD doesn't look at evidence, doesn't consider stories or even past history, they summarily will go and arrest whomever the finger is pointed at. Innocent women are marshalled into the dank disgusting halls of Santa Rita jail on no more than a whim. it must stop. Call OPD, call your State Legislature and tell them that the Domestic Violence Criminal statute is bad and must be changed.

Nice to see a candidate for Berkeley City Council going to a witch hunt.Maybe she can convince Darryl Moore to go with her.

As a native of Oakland, born and raised, I must confess that with the new voting system she was one of my choices.....BAD MISTAKE! I will support this cause because: As our mayor, Libby has given priority to Gentrification and white privilege in Oakland. She has neglected the natives, those who helped to make Oakland what it is today. She has supported cultural suppression while making sure that the transplants were comfortable at every turn. YES I WILL SUPPORT!

My understanding is that Google has purchased Eastmont Mall! It is a continued Gentrification and moving out of people of color! Who is selling Oakland to the highest bidder. Yes kick Libby out but there are others who have been there longer and are just as culpable!
