NEW YORK, NY — Curators Robert Aloia and Melissa McCaig-Welles are pleased to present Brooklyn’s The Borough, a mixed media group exhibition paying tribute to Brooklyn and the artists, visionaries and pioneers who have made their mark and transformed it into the avant garde destination it has become today.
Brooklyn’s The Borough is an exclusive two day event featuring some of these trendsetters, this ever-evolving mix of artists and their ingenuity that have made Brooklyn so electric and ahead of the curve. The opening reception will include a Brooklyn inspired music playlist, will be hosted by culture critic and curator, Carlo McCormick.
During the exhibition on Saturday May 21st will be an artist mixer with coffee and baked goods..
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Urban Arts Partnership. Urban Arts Partnership advances the intellectual, social and artistic development of underserved public school students through arts-integrated education programs to close the achievement gap. UAP brings the arts to over 15,000 students and 500 teachers in New York City and Los Angeles.
