Mass Movement & The Boston Public Library presents two different music business workshop events called Branding Boston: 2020 Vision. The first event is on April 25th at the Rabb Hall inside the Central Library 700 Boylston St. Boston, MA 02116 from 11 am-4 pm. Branding Boston’s objective is to establish artists with an outlet to learn the ins and outs of the industry and become a platform for artists to become a brand that professionally operates as an official business. Furthermore, employing all the elements of Hip Hop as a tool to develop, educate, and empower the social & economic state of our community. This event will present education, music, performances, vendors, networking and more.   ALL GENRES OF MUSIC WELCOMED!!!

May 30th Panelists:

Professor Tonya Butler, J.D., LL.M., Chair of Music Business/Management; Berklee College of Music: Professor Butler will cover what it takes to protect yourself against bad contracts, scams, and copyright infringement. ProfessorTonya Butler is a seasoned veteran of the music business with more than 14 years of experience as an entertainment attorney and label executive.  he has a Juris Doctorate from California Western School of Law and a Master of Laws in entertainment media from Southwestern University School of Law/Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, England.

HotMizz, Amnesty Records/Sony Entertainment:  HotMizz will discuss what every artist needs on their team and how focusing on partnering with key team members can begin to grow your business. HotMizz was previously a Boston R&B artist who became a songwriter for established and independent artists in the music industry. He is currently working with Amnesty Records/Sony Entertainment in Atlanta, Georgia and has years of experience in management, artist development, consulting & media relations.

Katiria Colon, Founder/CEO of eXpozedTV; Media personality, A&R, Media Producer & entrepreneurKatiria will discuss media communications, artist branding, strategies for exposure & what you need to do to make your fanbase take you more seriously. She finished her BA at The University of Massachusetts Boston and later obtained her MS in Leadership and project management at Northeastern University. She is a former radio personality at JAM’N 94.5 at iHeartRadio Station. For 13 years she’s been a multimedia executive producer that has produced local TV and radio shows such as The Breakfast Club & iHeartMedia, Telemundo shows. She is the Founder & CEO of Expozed TV, a multi-media network exposing all artists in a positive way worldwide through media and visual production.
