Bears In Space:
Bears in Space began as the creative brain child of Chris Bowen (Shits & Giggles) and Kevin Carney of the Black Disco label in June of 2009. With the blessing of Beats in Space's own Tim Sweeney, it began as a monthly event at Akbar in Silver Lake in Los Angeles. With Carney leaving in 2012, Bowen brought in DJ partner and mentor Victor Rodriguez and turned the monthly event into a seasonal 12 hour lot party in the back parking lot of Akbar, responsible for ludicrous drag performances in front of McDonalds, all night parties with DJ Harvey, Optimo and much more.
