Join us for Judge Camp 2019! Judge Camp is a half-day workshop for new and returning volunteers and an important part of our summer debate programming. Judge Camp will be an exciting and rich learning experience for judges of all levels of experience with policy debate. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. The workshop will feature training tailored to new and intermediate judges, including: For new judges, training on the fundamentals of policy debate and how to determine a winner, evalute speakers, and provide constructive feedback for debaters For intermediate judges who have judged at least two tournaments in the BDL, training on how debaters structure their arguments and respond to each other and strategies to help you follow what's happening in the round more closely Actual debate rounds run by experienced debaters and narrated by one of our expert judges The opportunity to connect with debaters and other volunteers and celebrate debate with our BDL community An optional topic lecture on international arms sales, the topic for 2019-2020 Judge Camp will be held at a convenient and train-accessible location that will be announced shortly.
