Learn the art of modern pointed-pen calligraphy in this small group workshop for beginners, lead by a pro lettering artist in an inspiring, focused & easy-to-understand manner. No experience is required & all class materials are included.
During this 3 hour class, you will receive patient & thorough instruction on everything from how to properly hold the pen & dip into acrylic ink, learn through watching & doing helpful warm-ups and lettering drills, thorough in-class practice of a complete alphabet from A to Z plus symbols / numbers, demos by Liz & detailed practice materials of 6 unique lettering styles (4 script/cursive styles & 2 block/print styles), meditative drills to learn how to smoothly connect your letters to form words, how to get creative with different flourishing techniques & see your own style evolve, and the essential healthy ergonomics & effective methods for improved & enjoyable calligraphy practice for days & years to follow.
The enjoyable & professional instruction is focused on recommendations & suggested goals for personal practice & study following class, lots of cool ideas for using your new calligraphy skills, interactive instruction on a variety of pro techniques in an easy-to-understand manner for beginners & 1-on-1 guidance from your teacher throughout the class.
Bring a list of a dozen favorite words & watch Liz hand-letter these for you on custom practice sheets to take home! Examples would be the people/places/activities unique to your life, a short beloved quote / part of a poem/song, a personal mantra, or the date/location of an upcoming celebration.

2 pen holders (oblique & straight) with 3 nibs / 3 pots of acrylic ink in your choice of colors, all of this is to use both during class AND to take home with you,
plus a fantastic "to-go kit" with an assortment of colorful card stock, the custom practice sheets created just for you, a listing of creative project ideas, several practice guideline sheets of various sizes, in addition to an informative follow-up email which includes a recap of where to buy additional calligraphy supplies, PDF versions of 6 hand-lettered alphabets, articles to read, videos to watch & more creative inspiration to keep you practicing at home for weeks, months & years to follow.
