The DAR and BHPS are helping preserve information for future generations by photographing family bible records. To be a part of history and preserve this information for future generations, please bring any old family bibles to this event! If your bible has family information recorded in the front piece -- names, locations, births, deaths, marriages and so on -- we would love to take pictures of this information for posterity! All due care will be taken to be respectful and careful with these valuable and treasured antiques. Not a native of Bluffton? Bring your family Bible anyway! We are interested in preservation regardless of location!
WHERE: The Bluffton Public Library at 120 Palmetto Way in downtown Bluffton
WHEN: April 25th & April 30th from 12:30 pm - 5:30 pm; each photography and information gathering session takes about 15 minutes. To make this event as efficient as possible, you must register for a specific date and time. To secure your time, please visit the link:
WHY: This information, the names, dates and other information for people who are no longer living is useful to those doing genealogical and historical research. This information will become publicly available on a non-profit basis for those who wish to do lineage and genealogical research. These documents and the transcribed records may be copyrighted by the respective organizations.
