Independent bottlers are a unique business model that evolved alongside the Scotch whiskey business. As Forbes.com com writer Karla Alindahao
"For those who aren’t familiar, independent bottlers are not to be confused with distillers. They do not make their own whisky. Instead, they source and select special barrels from a number of distilleries so they’re able to treat them as they see fit: Some buy new make and mature the spirits themselves, while others keep an eye out for particularly good casks of already matured whisky. Either way, independent bottlers take their finds and bottle them. And because the barrel selection process is thorough, consumers almost always get spectacular limited-edition Scotch—most of them rare and hard to find, considering that the yield for each cask is only a few hundred bottles. At best."
We've been collecting them for years. You know those bottles on the shelves you don't recognize? Probably independent bottlers. Those shuttered distilleries or distilleries that generally only make whiskies for blending? Independent bottlers put those out so you can taste them.
Join us for an interesting couple of hours of tasting and discussing some really great whisky you probably have never had before! You'll get SIX (6) pours of whisky worth anywhere from $90-$150 at regular pricing (depending on the selection), for just $65! The whiskies will range in style from all over Scotland.
