Greetings Black teachers and educators! We are excited to be hosting our second Bay Area Text Study of this school year. This semester, we will focus on concepts from Shawn Ginwright's book Hope and Healing in Urban Education: How Urban Activists and Teachers are Reclaiming Matters of the Heart. Learn from Ginwright as he proposes a new movement of healing justice to repair the damage done by the erosion of hope resulting from structural violence in urban communities and schoolsJoin us for this eight week series that will deepen your practice and enrich your teaching toolkit in fellowship with Black teachers and educators like yourself.

This group has limited capacity so please be sure to register. We will have 20 spots available for Black TK-12 classroom teachers and 5 spots available for Black educators who are not in TK-12 classrooms. Please be sure to choose the correct ticket type depending on whether you are a teacher or educator. We ask that you register for every meeting date you will attend so that we can plan accordingly. Participants who attend at least 6 meetings this semester (for at least 90 minutes) and complete a final project will earn $75 for each session attended.

We recommend purchasing a book to guide you in the group, but that is not a requirement for attendance. BTP is also now offering discounted books for those that want the book, but are not able to pay full price. The discounted book price will be $25; if you need a discounted book, please email info@blackteacherproject.org by Monday, February 17th.

Please note: This is intended to be an all-Black educator affinity space.
