Bike Ride along the Anacostia River Trail to Bladensburg Water Park

Join us for a leisure bike ride along the Anacostia River Trail from the Anacostia Park to Bladensburg, MD. This 18 mile roundtrip journey travels along the river, through the city, and marshy fields of the paths along the way. We will ride 7.5 miles to Bladensburg Waterfront Park and stop for lunch, so bring your snacks and food.

On the return trip we will ride south past RFK, the marina and thru the Navy Yard, along the Capitol Waterfront past Nat s stadium to the Frederick Douglass Bridge. We will cross over the river and turn back north which will take us to our starting point at the Rec Center.

What to Bring:
- A bicycle in GOOD condition
- A bicycle helmet
- A bicycle repair kit, including a spare tube that fits your bike
- Closed toe shoes
- A bike lock
- Snacks and lunch
- Water
- A backpack or bike pack to carry your things in

What to Wear:
Please check the weather before leaving and dress accordingly. You should wear suitable biking clothing, including a rain jacket/windbreaker. Wear layers so that you can shed/add clothes as you warm up/cool down. Make sure that you don’t wear cotton clothing next to your skin. Polypro or a synthetic material will work best.
