Motor City Brew Tours Presents: Bike and Brew Tour - Downtown Detroit - Midtown. Enjoy a guided small group bike tour with a historical theme in downtown Detroit. Beer and food are included at Traffic Jam & Snug Restaurant & Brewery at the end of the ride. Multiple tour options to pick from. All rider abilities welcome.

Brewery History - This 10-mile tour takes you by former and current brewery sites in downtown Detroit. Learn about 12 of Detroit's pre & post-Prohibition breweries on our most popular tour! Tour Dates: TBD.

Prohibition History - This 14-mile tour takes you by former prohibition sites in downtown Detroit. Learn about Detroit’s bootlegging, rum-runners and gangs during Prohibition. This bike tour will take you to Belle Isle and back along the Riverwalk on this very scenic and popular tour route! Tour Dates: TBD.

Best of Detroit History - This 10-mile tour takes you by the all highlights in the city of Detroit. Learn about the history of the Ren Center, Hart Plaza, Cobo Center, Campus Martius, Opera House, Comerica Park, Fox, Masonic Temple, the DIA, and more. Tour Dates: Aug 9

Automotive History - This 10-mile route takes you on a bike ride and highlights all of the great Automotive the city has to offer. Learn about Henry Ford, Scripps-Booth, Hudson Motors, R.E. Olds and more. Tour Date: TBD

Hamtramck History - This 11-mile tour takes you on a bike ride to visit Hamtramck! Learn about the history of the city, Dodge/GM plant, Hamtramck & Keyworth Stadium/Fowling, Polish Village Cafe, New Palace Bakery, Hamtramck Disneyland, St. Florian Church and Kowalski. Tour Dates: August 2 and September 26

Murals & Public Art - This 9-mile tour takes you around Woodbridge, New Center and Milwaukee Junction areas to enjoy many of the amazing murals, public art and sculptures that the city has on display. Highlights include Sculpture Park, Grand River Creative Corridor, Lincoln Street Art Park, Local Community Garden and the Illuminated Mural/Kahn/Tiger Murals on this picture friendly bike tour. Do I get sent an actual ticket? No. We will have the name you registered with on a will-call list at event check-in. 

What does the tour include? Ticket includes a guided bike tour with support staff, historical commentary, Michigan craft beers and lunch (Turkey or Veggie Sandwich w/cheese & Fruit tray). Please note - "BYOB" - Bring Your Own Bike for this tour. Limited bike rentals are available for the Traffic Jam and Snug start location only. We rent up to 4 bikes for these tours - email us if you want to Reserve bikes. You can also use the new "MoGo" bike rental stations all over downtown Detroit (not run by us). There is a Mogo bike rental station 1 block from Traffic Jam and Snug (2nd and Prentis). You can reserve bikes at the station. Learn more at: http://mogodetroit.org. Make sure you understand how it is priced by visiting the website ahead of time.

Where should I park? Use the parking lot across from Traffic Jam & Snug - 511 West Canfield Street, Detroit, MI 48201 (on Canfield between Cass and 2nd Ave). Traffic Jam & Snug offers us a free gated parking lot that is safe & close! Tell them you are there for the Motor City Brew Tours - Bike Tour.

How old do I have to be to attend an event? Since our tours will involve alcohol, we only offer our tours to adults aged 21 and over. Please bring your State Identification or driver's license to present to your tour guide upon arrival. Motor City Brew Tours follows all state of Michigan liquor/consumption laws.

How far do we bike and is it hard? The bike tour routes are 9-15 miles, on flat paved road surfaces. We will ride on the road, bike lanes and bike paths. The distance varies depending on the tour you pick. We will have a tour guide to set the pace up front and a person in back to make sure we all stay together. We ride a relaxing (8-10 MPH) pace to help you learn about the history in Detroit, soak in the scenery and enjoy time with friends!

What is the company policy regarding cancellations for Bike Tours: Reservation Fees received by Motor City Brew Tours for any tours or special charity events are non-refundable and can not be transferred to another event. If you are unable to attend an event, tour tickets can always be transferred to another guest. They just give the registered name at the event check in. Although very rare, Motor City Brew Tours reserves the right to cancel events for safety concerns such as high winds, thunderstorms, excessive heat or cold, or other severe conditions. In the event of such a cancellation, you may either reschedule or request a full refund. We ride in cold, hot or even rainy weather!

What steps are taken to ensure rider safety? We avoid automobile traffic when possible. Each tour begins with a safety and bike usage talk. Your tour guides are trained to perform basic bike care, but please bring bikes that are ready to ride. Mountain, comfort or road bikes are fine for this bike tour route. For your safety, helmets are strongly recommended for all of our tours.

What should I bring with me on the bike tour? Bike in good working condition, helmet, water, bike lock, identification, cell phone, a little money for other purchases, tire pump and a spare bike tube. The tour guide will have a bike pump with him/her as well. Please wear seasonally appropriate clothing, sunblock, rain gear (if needed) and don’t forget your camera! We will have plenty of picture taking opportunities.

How do I redeem a gift certificate? If you have a gift card, you can redeem it online via the directions printed on the gift card for 1 ticket at a time. If you have a PDF gift certificate, you redeem it by emailing us - Info@MotorCityBrewTours.com. Tell us the tour date you want, your contact cell# and the gift certificate #. We will email you back the ticket! If you owe a little more money less the gift certificate, we will email you a online invoice to pay the ticket price difference. Once paid, we will send you over a ticket confirmation from our ticketing provider, Eventbrite.
