Big Bunny 5K

The Big Bunny 5K is on the Saturday before Easter and is sponsored by Parks and Recreation Department. CARES and CERT volunteers provides eyes and ears along the course, communicating with amateur radios and with FRS/GMRS radios. The Medical Reserve Corps staffs a first aid station at the finish line.

Cupertino Citizen Corps takes advantage of this event as an opportunity to practice skills and procedures common to all its activations and those specific to events that involve helping to assure the safety and health of a large crowd of people, in particular those travelling on foot from on location to another.

Volunteers have multiple roles to volunteer for. You can work more than one position if they do not overlap:

-  Field responder

-  Shift supervisor

-  Net Control operator (Amateur or GMRS)

-  Scribe

-  Shadow

-  Sweep, using bicycle

-  Logistics

-  First Aid

-  Recruiter

-  Check-in and check-out
