Benevolent Touch, developed more than 30 years ago by St. Ann Center founder and president Sr. Edna Lonergan, was designed to help certified nursing assistants, activity aides, COTAs, therapists, nurses, social workers, chaplains and personal care workers. St. Ann Center has taught BT to people from across the country, in hospitals, veterans facilities, nursing homes, hospice and adult day centers. St. Ann Center has even taught Benevolent Touch to child care workers, who use it to calm agitated toddlers and infants.
