This presentation incorporates Behavior Basics 1 and 2 into one class. It is primarily geared towards children ages 2-12, verbal or not, and covers the techniques of preventing negative or problem behaviors, teaching and increasing positive behaviors, such as following directions, self-help and independence skills, using the principles of ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis), and determining the reason (function) for behaviors. Behavior strategies such as redirection, reinforcement, and positives will be covered. Videos demonstrating behaviors will be shown for learning how to identify functions of behaviors. The concepts of functional assessment and strategies for reducing and replacing behavior will be discussed. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide childcare at this training.
