Afternoon Session on June 20, 1-4

Explore the fundamentals of glass blowing. Students select from different color options and create a small, graceful Hummingbird Feeder with the help of Glass Shop instructor, Jason Dederich.

Glass blowing is an art and the craft takes time to master.  This session enables participants to join with a small group to get a sense of the process. Learn more about blowing fine glass by working with Jason to form your own alluring object. Summer seems like it is already here!

What you'll learn: 
Heating glass
Pipe turning 
Proper glass blowing stances.
Pipe/Body/Hand positioning
Pulling and shaping hot glass
Other skills covered: 
Point Turning
Marvering
Resetting point on center
Basic glass balancing

Class Cost: $50 (all materials included)

*Glass objects must be annealed overnight and can be picked up during the work week 10am-6pm Mon-Thurs*
PLEASE WEAR WORK CLOTHES MADE FROM NATURAL FIBERS FOR THIS SESSION.
CLOSED TOES ON SHOES ARE REQUIRED!
