Get your hands on clay! This class offers students an 8-week introduction to the potter's wheel and slab work. Participants will experience basic methods of centering clay, pottery bowl forms, trimming and slab creations (hand-building). Students will also learn how to finish their pieces using a variety of decorating and glazing techniques. No experience or artistic ability is needed fo this pottery class. Join us for fun, playing in clay! Class includes access during Open Studio for students to work on their projects outside of class. Open Studio access ends 2 weeks after the class ends unless student is signed up for the next session. Included in course fee: 25 lb. block of brown or white clay glazes and firing access to studio tools and equipment Access to Open Studio Supplies Students Need to Bring: Apron (you'll get dirty) Hand towel (it will get dirty) Small notebook for notes and to log pieces for firing Basic tool kit (optional) Skill Level: Beginner (Those with some experience are welcome) Number of classes: 8
