Beer Run - Whiner Beer | Part of the 2020 Illinois Brewery Running Series

We are the Illinois Brewery Running Series and we run for beer!

Times have been crazy, but we are excited that we are back to hosting live in-person events where we can be active, have fun, and give back SAFELY!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Everyone will need to pick, and stick to their designated start time and respect safety guidelines as they pertain to COVID-19. Please keep an eye out for all specific event details and be prepared for any additional adjustments needed.

Join us at Whiner Beer Co. on Saturday September 19 @ 10 or 11AM for a 5k-ish course that starts and ends at this awesome Back of the Yards brewery. Weave through the surrounding area at whatever pace you like, no matter what theres a beer waiting for you at the finish line!

We are all about being active, having fun and giving back to our local community. Since our inaugural event (the Brewery Running Series was founded in Minnesota in 2012), we have been able to donate over $160,000 back to local nonprofits. 10% of all proceeds goes directly to Chicago Run and Chicago Parks Foundations, awesome local organizations that make Chicago a great place to live. So not only do you get to a little exercise and enjoy a great beer, you are contributing to our awesome community!

We are taking all necessary precautions regarding COVID-19. We will be sending a detailed email to participants the week of the event of everything to expect.

Registration is limited, so sign up today!

Important details:

Upon registering, you will be promoted to sign up for a 10am wave or an 11am wave. We will be keeping these waves at a reduced number due to COVID-19. Please arrive no more than 20 minutes prior to check-in. Dont forget some extra $$$. In addition to your FREE beer and swag there will be merchandise for sale, and plenty more beer!

If you were originally signed up for this event prior to this updated announcement (on August 31st), you will be automatically registered this event, HOWEVER you msut select your new starting time. We will be sending out an email to participants with a promo code for you to use to re-sign up. Due to safety cautions, we will not be able to accommodate on-site time swaps.

You will have two hours upon completion of your run to stay at the brewery to enjoy your free beer, as well as any additional beer you might get.

IMPORTANT: Whiner has created an outdoor patio with 7 tables (6 feet apart) that can hold 4 people each, but the majority of the seating is indoors (also 6 feet apart!). All seating will be first come, first serve. We FULLY understand that some people are not comfortable with indoor dining at this point, so you also will be allowed on the spot to get $7 off a to go order of beer and pizza, should you wish! You can make a game time decision :)

This is an untimed, 5k-ish fun-run. All levels of walkers, runners and joggers are welcome.

This is an open course, meaning roads will NOT be closed. You are responsible for obeying all traffic laws and regulations.

We create each route to start and end at the brewery and to show off the surrounding neighborhood.

You must bring a valid ID or driver's license. You do not need to be 21 to enjoy the event, but you must be 21 to enjoy the beer. Please drink responsibly. (Registered, underage participants will receive a wristband for a FREE non-alcoholic beverage)

Our events are rain or shine! If conditions become unsafe to run, we will still hang out and drink beer!

There will not be a bag check; please plan accordingly and dress appropriately for the weather.

There is public parking available. We always encourage carpooling and safe, designated drivers.
