With a goal of social justice, religious activism and just getting to know and understand each other better at a time when people are feeling further and further apart, Asbury United Methodist Church, John Wesley African Methodist Episcopal Zion (A.M.E. Zion) Church and Foundry United Methodist Church have recently developed a "partnership based on the teachings of twentieth century theologian Howard Thurman who's writings and activism have influenced Dr, King and Mahatma Gandhi among others.
Join us on January 13th for a special pre-screening of "Backs Against the Wall: The Howard Thurman Story" by Martin Doblmeier
The film will be screened twice at 1:45PM and 4:15PM, with a panel discussion on the implications of Dr. Thurman's life and work for our congregations and our shared ministry from 3:15-4:10pm.
Pre registration is strongly encouraged.
