This is an introductory training for parents, family members, and caregivers who have a child that is waiting for an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) diagnosis or that has been recently diagnosed ASD. Attendees will gain an understanding of an ASD diagnosis while learning about the various services and resources offered to them and their children in the state of Maryland. The presenter will provide handouts that offer guidance related to getting a diagnosis, finding services, the education system, and more.
Catherine “Cathy” Groschan, LCSW-C, is a licensed clinical social worker at the Center for Autism and Related Disorders. Cathy received her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Maryland, School of Social Work. She has over 40 years of experience working in the child mental health field. She currently practices at the Center for Autism and Related Disorders and assists families through care coordination.
