Atlanta St. Patrick's Parade 5K Run/Walk: 6th Annual

Out of an abundance of caution, the Atlanta St. Patrick’s Parade is cancelling this year’s event due to the growing concerns about the COVID – 19 virus. The safety and health of the community is our first priority.

Based on the recommendations from public health officials, we have made the difficult decision to also cancel the St. Patrick’s Day 5K.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and are extremely disappointed about not hosting our festive event this year.

Unfortunately we cannot issue refunds as with the nature of these events almost everything is paid for well in advance of the event itself. We will have a virtual 5K and runners will be able to pick up t-shirt and finisher medal at Big Peach - Midtown starting next week. If you reside out of state we'll mail your shirt and medal to you. Stay tuned for more details.

RACE START/FINISH
Race will start and finish on Peachtree St. near 14th Ave. in front of Colony Square. Rain or shine!

Join your fellow parade revelers and runners for the Official 6th Annual St. Patrick's Parade 5K! Run or walk before one of the countries oldest St. Patrick’s Parades, the route begins and finishes on Peachtree Road and winds through Midtown, Piedmont Park and finishes on the parade route on historic Peachtree Street! This unique race and lively post race parade is not to be missed.

CoronaVirus is of course on everybody's mind and we're taking the lead from the Parade organizers, which are in turn working with the city of Atlanta special events office. Both events, the Parade and 5K are still scheduled.

Again for this year, we are partnering with Colony Square in Midtown (start/finish at large plaza near the location of Peachtree St and 14th Ave.) All finishers 21 and over will receive 1 complimentary draft beer after the race and food specials from Colony Square food trucks. Stick around for the St Patrick's Day Parade and the Luck of the Square (see below)! Free face painting before the parade for kids too!

Colony Square is excited to be hosting our fourth annual Luck of The Square celebration! At the top of the morning (10am), we will send and cheer on hundreds of St. Patrick's Day 5k runners/walkers where the race and starts and finishes at The Square.  

Then at 12pm, Midtown goes green for the 138th annual Atlanta St. Patrick's Day Parade. Enjoy our premium parade viewing area on Peachtree Street and all the sights + sounds you'll experience.

After the parade wraps up, The Square becomes the official post-parade and St. Patrick's Day party zone. Experience live musical performances featuring Party Nation, beer and fare, dancing and more shenanigans. Bring your lads and lassies and may the Luck of The Square be with you!

Age group award winners, 3-deep M/F: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65+. $100 Big Peach gift cards for top Male/Female winners and $25 for top M/F Masters (40+) winners.

The 5K is "chip" timed and measured by USTAF standards but not a Peachtree Qualifier at this time.

In addition overall male and female will be able to ride on a float in the Atlanta St. Patrick's Parade!

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

No. But if you plan to recieve your complimentary beer you must show ID. Don't forgot it race morning!

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

MARTA's Art Center Station is 3 blocks from Colony Square.

Where can I Park?

There is ample underground parking deck at Colony Square. $8 special all day rate for runners. Get your validated ticket at the 5K.

What can/can't I bring to the event?

Bring clothes to wear for watching the parade and Luck of the Square Party afterward.
