Assess for Success: Leveraging Danielson 3d to advance learning
Assessment is part of — not the end of — instruction. Effectively using assessments means both teachers and students use assessment results to inform their own teaching and learning, respectively. Tests, projects, papers, experiments, and problems — whether solved correctly or incorrectly — provide valuable information about next steps in the teaching and learning process.
Using assessments can feel like a barrier to effective instruction, getting in the way of precious classroom time. In this three-part series, we'll embark on an in-depth exploration of Danielson component 3d, and support teachers in understanding assessments as tools that can focus their instruction to advance learning. We'll explore not only the why (theory) but also the how (practice) of fully integrating both formative and summative assessments into your teaching practice.

Understand the criteria and elements of Danielson 3d

Distinguish differences in levels of performanceUnderstand and differentiate between formative and summative assessments

Design rubrics for assessment

Incorporate strategies to improve level of performance in 3d ​

To pay for your attendance using a purchase order
Have your school contact cpet@tc.edu to initiate this process. A PO must be created by your school & received by CPET prior to registration closing in order for a promo code to be generated.Once we've received a PO, we will provide your school with a promo code to distribute to the teachers they are funding. The promo code will discount your registration 100% so that there is no out-of-pocket cost to you. You will still be required to complete a registration form.
To pay using a credit card
Simply complete the registration form online. You will be asked for your credit card information at that time.
To pay using your New Teacher Network membership
Contact ntn@tc.edu. Once your membership has been verified, you will receive a promo code that will discount your registration 100%. You will still be required to complete a registration form.
