Art Journal Workshop

Summary: Join us in community for monthly art journaling. This is a practice that can support you on your personal and spiritual journeys as you create pages with words, collage, paint and various art supplies.

Who: Open to the First Universalist community

When: 6:00pm on the first Tuesday of the month (with exceptions of July and November) 

Where: First Universalist art room

What to Bring: A small unlined journal and a favorite writing utensil

• February 4 - Honoring the people who give us hope * The inherent worth and dignity of every person - collage

• March 3 - Honoring truth and trust/authentic self inventory * A free and responsible search for truth and meaning - bookmaking

• April 7 - Acknowledging movement/travel/evolution/goals - bookmaking

• May 5 - Honoring the Mothers amidst patriarchy/adjusting language - illuminated manuscript

• June 2 - Honoring our connection with Mother Earth * Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part - drawing

• August 4 - Honoring our community * Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations - water media

• September 1 - Miracles/trusting in the unseen and unheard - imagery without words

• October 20 - Activism/voting * Justice, equity and compassion in human relations - write a prayer/affirmation as a community

• December 1 - Celebrate  * The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all - stencils/printmaking
