Arizona was recently selected to take part in a residential energy code field study, with funding support from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). The purpose of the field study is to determine what impact residential energy codes have on home energy savings. This project will include a baseline field assessment of residential construction and free education, training, outreach, and technical assistance for builders, code officials, trades, and others involved in the residential housing market.
This meeting is a kick off for this work. The Institute for Market Transformation (IMT), along with other project partners, will present an overview of the project work, review the sampling plan, and begin to discuss education needs. Key stakeholders in Arizona are asked to attend to understand the work over the next 3 years, ask questions and provide feedback to the project team.
