Second Annual Komen Louisiana Metastatic Breast Cancer Conference

Komen Louisiana is excited to host Louisiana’s 2nd Annual Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC) Conference on June 12-13, 2020. June 12th will be geared towards healthcare providers, and continuing education credits will be available for physicians and nurses. June 13th will be focused on those living with metastatic/stage IV breast cancer and their caregivers. Metastatic or stage IV breast cancer is breast cancer that has spread to other parts of the body such as the bones, lungs, liver, or brain.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, registration is FREE on June 13 for those living with MBC and their caregivers. Advance registration is required for both days as seating is limited.

Our Conference Hotel is the The Cook Hotel and Conference Center at LSU. It is located at 3848 West Lakeshore Dr. Baton Rouge, LA 70808. Rooms are available for $129 per night before taxes for a standard room and $149 per night for a luxury suite under the Komen Louisiana room block. Directions to The Cook Hotel and Conference Center

Exit Interstate 10 at Dalrymple Drive. Follow Dalrymple Drive towards campus for approximately 1 mile until you reach the traffic circle by the International Cultural Center. Take the exit for West Lakeshore Drive, and continue for approximately 1/4 mile until you reach the Lod Cook Alumni Center on the right. Turn right by the Alumni Center. The Cook Hotel is located immediately behind. Complimentary parking is available on both sides of the property.

Travel Scholarships

A limited number of travel scholarships are available on a first come first serve basis to attendees. The scholarship is only for those living with metastatic breast cancer and their caregivers attending the conference. · Reimbursement of mileage up to 350 miles.
· Up to two nights at the conference hotel if travelling over 50 miles one way.
· Due to limited funding, we cannot provide travel scholarships to cover flights.
· Travel scholarships are provided by Komen Louisiana.
