Club President Will Wright will lead our annual gathering of Club members, alumni, and guests in the beautiful BBVA Compass Executive Dining Room on the top floor of the Daniel Building (BBVA Compass headquarters).
Our speaker is Courtney Peterson, Ph.D., Assistant Professor in the Department of Nutrition Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her topic is, "Intermittent Fasting and Meal Timing: Does When You Eat Matter?" She received her A.M. in physics and her Ph.D. in physics from Harvard University. Courtney's research is to develop new dietary approaches to prevent, treat, or reverse type 2 diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease. Dr. Peterson is a world leader in daily intermittent fasting research, and she studies how it affects blood sugar control, blood pressure, cholesterol levels, inflammation, fat burning, and appetite levels. She has appeared in several media outlets including NBC Nightly News, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Wall Street Journal.
