Los Angeles Summer Program Audition, Junior (Ages 11-14) - Santa Monica, CA 2020

AUDITION FORMAT & DRESS The audition consists of an abbreviated ballet class, repertoire, and improvisation. Wear form-fitting dancewear and style hair neatly away from your face. Most students wear a leotard and tights or shorts, but there is no restriction on color or style. Pointe work is not required at the audition. SUMMER PROGRAM Alonzo King LINES Ballet | Summer Program is designed for aspiring artists ages 11-25 and offers a unified approach to training — rooted in the philosophy of Alonzo King. Located in the heart of downtown San Francisco, our Summer Program supports the artistic growth of contemporary ballet dancers. Dancers are guided on a collaborative journey that values risk-taking and independent thinking. Our aim is to supply a solid technical underpinning, based in classical training, and to provide an environment for the unfolding of the students’ own creative power. They are encouraged to problem solve through exploration and a tenacious work ethic. Emphasis is placed on cultivating the ability to recognize individual gifts and express themselves with fluency. Pre-Professional Program: June 3 – June 29 Showcase: 8pm Saturday, June 29 Ages 18-25 Advanced Program: July 8 – August 2 Showcase: 8pm Friday, August 2 Ages 14-17 Junior Program: July 1 – 5 Ages 11-14
