Over 395,000 eggs have been filled in the twenty plus years the Royal
Scoop has been hosting Bonita’s best and biggest egg hunt! What
started as a small group of kids with a handful of eggs has
transformed into the largest Easter event in Bonita with hundreds of
kids hopping over to gather tens of thousands of eggs! It has become a
tradition around these parts! Now the kids that came to the first
hunts are bringing their kids. We are so happy to be a part of so many
family memories! And, of course, this year will be no different! Here
comes Peter Cottontail hopping down the Bunny trail to our 25th Annual
Royal Scoop Easter Egg Hunt and Games! Yeah! Easter’s on its way!
Gather up all your bunnies and hop on over to join us for an Eggciting
day! The event is FREE to the public, and children up to ten years of
age are welcome to hunt our over 26,000 treat filled Easter eggs and
play our Eggcellent Easter games from 10am to 1 pm in the church field
across from our store located at 15 8th Street in Bonita Shores. Of
course, the day wouldn’t be complete without a visit from the Easter
Bunny, who will be on hand passing out candy and posing for pictures.
Mark your calendar for Saturday, April 20th. The party will start at
10am with our inflatables. Get here early and play while you wait for
main event…the egg hunt! We will begin with the two to five year
olds at 11am, followed by the six to ten year olds at 11:20am in a mad
dash for our Easter eggs. We will be hosting a special group of
visually impaired children from Lighthouse of Collier again this year
for a hunt at 11:40am. Following the egg hunts, at 12pm, we will play
a series of relay races including the bunny hop, the cone carry, the
egg and spoon race and the ever-popular egg toss using, of course, RAW
eggs! When we have finished the games around 12:30pm, we will begin
our hands-free ice cream eating contest! The winner of course will
receive an Eggcellent prize! A great family day wouldn’t be complete
without our traditional barbeque, so join us for hamburgers and hot
dogs while you’re here. We will have crafts, face painting, bounce
houses and more to keep you busy throughout the party. “Last year we
had a great turnout and everyone had a fantastic time, so this year we
are stuffing even more eggs and making lots of great Royal Scoop
Homemade Ice Cream to ensure that every child leaves with lots of
candy, a belly full of ice cream and sweet Easter memories,”
commented David Zimmermann, owner of the Royal Scoop. The ice cream
shop will be open throughout the event so you can cool off with your
favorite flavor. For more information, call the store at 992-2000.
