Memorial Day Breakfast and Hike, 16th Annual

This is our big kick off for the Summer Season!Starting at 6 AM, regardless of the weather, we'll host our 16th annual breakfast and hike. Do both or come for just the breakfast or hike. This is a super delicious BREAKFAST IN THE MOUNTAINS EARLY IN THE MORNING AND I ONLY DO THIS ONCE A YEAR! Invite friends and family. RSVP required for Breakfast Buffet via text - Sheryl[masked] Arrive early for parking since this is a holiday weekend and the canyons get crowded early! TIMELINE: 6 AM: You are invited to help US set up, build campfire, meal prep, etc. - Early birds who help US also get to eat first AND get the best parking spots. 7 - 9 AM: BREAKFAST BUFFET 8:15 AM: Hikers start gathering near our BREAKFAST AREA. Bring everything you need for the hike since you walk to the trailhead from here. 8:30 AM: Start hiking or keep eating - you decide! 11:30 AM: Hikers are off the trail generally speaking before this time. You are always invited to do a much shorter hike if you like. There are 2 trails nearby to help us accommodate Easy and Moderate hiking abilities. BREAKFAST: Breakfast Buffet: $7/person Help us conserve by bringing your own mess kit if possible (plate, spoon, fork, knife, bowl, cup). I'll provide this for those who don't bring these items. BREAKFAST BUFFET: Pancakes w/ Whipped Butter, Maple Syrup, Raspberry Syrup, Whipped Cream Dutch Oven Mountain Man Egg Dish Hashbrowns Fresh Fruit platter Milk Juice Sausage Bacon Granola Cold Cereal HIKING: 2 Trails to choose from: Easier: Church fork to Pipeline Trail - 300 ft. elevation gain in first 1/4 mile then mostly flat on a lush green sunny trail, 1 - 4 miles RT Moderate: Salt Lake Overlook, Desolation Trail - 1200 ft. elevation gain in 2.5 miles. Shady forest area. Approx. 5 miles RT Those hiking only, there is no fee. CANYON Fees: EVERY Vehicle must pay to get out of the canyon. $3/vehicle if you are under 62 years old, $2/vehicle for 62 and older) I'll split everyone into two groups at 8:15 AM and start hiking at 8:30 AM. I stay behind and clean up so this is one hiking outing I won't be on. If you want to stay behind and help, thank you very much in advance.
