"Alexa, Open My Python Skill" for Amazon Echo

This month, Jacob Foster will present “Alexa, open my python skill!” -- a talk and demo on using Python to build an Amazon Alexa skill. If you want to follow along and try yourself, be sure to prepare by setting yourself with up an AWS account! The free tier will be sufficient.

There will still be plenty to see if you don't set up an AWS account, but it will be more fun if you do, because you can customize it to do/say other things.

This is another installment of our monthly Python meetup at the Olympia Community Center, featuring presentations and workshops on Python-related topics. All levels of experience are welcome, though some sessions may cover intermediate or advanced topics. Beginners are welcome regardless, and are encouraged to reach out to the PyOly organizers to arrange mentoring.
