Live music at the Mint with Aeden K (9:45), Swell Gibson (10:35)
Aeden K, a singer/songwriter who studied jazz guitar at Duke University, has performed and arranged original acoustic jazz and funk pieces for over 10 years. Establishing herself in the church and expanding to wider audiences, her style weaves standard jazz with traditional hymns, Ethiopian folk melodies, blues, and soul into a unique repertoire of original and standard tunes.
Swell Gibson utilizes the classic organ trio instrumentation of organ, guitar, and drums to create funky, soulful music in the spirit of the Jimmy Smith, Richard “Groove” Holmes, and the Meters. Hammond Organ artist, Tris Duncan, Andy Ellsworth (guitar), and Tony Hundtoft (drums) have kept themselves quite busy over the years in Southern California, often in support of other artists, including Louis Prima Jr., Macy Gray, George Clinton, and Mary Wilson. However, they are especially excited about their newfound funky instrumental adventures as Swell Gibson…”organ trio music for the those with brave hearts!”
